Your account

The account is optional. It knows your Pro on every device and, only if you switch it on, keeps your work in step between your devices. Here you see what it holds, where you are signed in, and you can change the password, download everything or delete it.

Checking your account…

My data: what this browser keeps, backup and restore

What the account keeps

Without sync: your username as you wrote it, your password only as a one-way hash (PBKDF2, never the password itself), the recovery code also as a hash, your e-mail address only if you add one (encrypted on our server), the other ways you sign in, the browsers where you are signed in (only the kind of browser and system, never the IP address) and your Pro payments. With sync switched on, also what is listed above, as it is in your browser. It is used for the account and for sync, nothing else.

If you forget the password

The recovery code you saved when you made the account lets you choose a new one; it works once, gives you a new code and closes every session of the account. If you added and confirmed an e-mail address, you can also ask for a link to it. Without either, we cannot open the account for you: nobody here knows your password.

Switching sync on, and off

Before anything moves, the page counts what will go up from this browser, what will come down from the account, what is already the same and what differs. What differs is never overwritten: both versions are kept, and this page shows where. Switching it off leaves everything in this browser; the copy on the server is deleted only if you tick that too, and other devices that still sync then stop without deleting anything of theirs.

If the same thing was changed on two devices

A document changed on both comes in twice, side by side, the other device's version marked as such. A single setting, such as a project's name or your company details, keeps this device's value and saves the other here, with a button to use it instead. An issued document is never rewritten: a different version of it arrives as a copy.
