Wood & panels

For cabinet makers, joiners and kitchen fitters: how many sheets a cut list really needs once the saw, the trim and the grain have had their say, and how much edge tape to order. Every layout can be cut on a panel saw.

Same rules as everywhere here: the method on the page, no sign-up, nothing uploaded, all of it computed in your browser.

What the cutting plan looks like

Panel cutting plan: one sheet drawn to scale with its labelled parts, straight through cuts and the offcuts
The optimizer's own example: 34 cabinet parts from 3 sheets of 2440 × 1220, the fewest possible, 90.1 % of the board used. Every layout cuts with straight, through cuts. Open it with your list →

Why it sits next to the glass

Because the same problem runs through every workshop that cuts sheets: parts out of boards with the fewest boards and the least waste. The glass has its own optimiser, with breakout and an offcut rack; this one is built for wood, with grain and a saw kerf.
