The job report, on paper as it will print

Write what was done, who worked and the materials used, and the report builds itself on the page, ready to print or save as PDF. Photos carry the red pencil; materials and hours go to a budget without retyping. Hours are a figure you type, not a time-attendance record, and the client's name is not a certified signature: the printed copy has a box to sign. Kept in this browser: nothing is uploaded.

Your company on the documents

Shown on every document you make here, and on the specification sheet and the schedule report: one set of details for all of them. Saved in this browser.

What goes on the report

The date, a report number if you use them, the client and the site; the work done, line by line; who worked, with their role and the hours each one spent; the materials used, with quantity and unit; photos before and after, with arrows and dimensions drawn in red; what is still pending; and the client's acceptance. A material with no quantity, or a person with no hours, is shown and flagged on the report, never counted as zero.

Hours: a figure, not a time-attendance record

The hours are one number per person that you type for this job, to know what it took and to put it in a budget. You can write 7.5 or 7:30. No start or finish time is asked or kept, and the report is not a record of working time: if your business has to keep one, this does not replace it. You can also leave the hours off the printed copy.

The client's acceptance

The name of whoever accepts the work for the client is typed in. It is not a certified electronic signature and nothing here signs on anyone's behalf. When you need a signature, print the report: it carries a box to sign by hand, and the client's remarks if there are any.

Issued means frozen

While it is a draft, the report saves itself as you type. Once issued it cannot be changed; a change becomes revision 2, 3… and each revision can be compared with the one before: who, what and which quantities moved.

From a checklist, to a budget

A checklist done on site becomes a job report in one step, with its photos and its issues as pending items. From the report, the materials and the hours go to the budget as lines waiting for their price: one line per person or one with the total.

What is free

The whole job report, with its photos, printed or saved as PDF, and sending the materials and hours to a budget. The free version prints a small "Prepared with SyntaxFlow" line at the foot; Pro removes it and adds your own templates (who usually works, the usual operations and the materials with their unit), duplicating with options (you choose what the copy takes; photos and the client's acceptance never), a series of reports for several days or one per person in one go, and several reports at once: one PDF, one after another, and one CSV with all their hours and materials.
