Double and triple glazing weight

An insulating glass unit weighs its panes; the cavity weighs practically nothing, air or argon. So 4-16-4 is 20.0 kg/m² and 6-16-6 is 30.0 kg/m², whatever the cavity width. The spacer and sealant add a little the figures leave out.

The width of the cavity (12, 16, 20 mm) does not change the weight. With a laminated pane in the unit, add its interlayer: see laminated glass weight.

Every figure is the calculator's. The door and the window are monolithic sizes for comparison; your own size and make-up go in the calculator.
