Laminated glass weight

Laminated glass weighs the glass plus the interlayer: 2.5 kg/m² for every millimetre of glass and about 1 kg/m² for every millimetre of PVB (density 1070 kg/m³). So 4+4 with 0.76 mm PVB (8.76 mm) is 20.8 kg/m².

Questions people ask

How much does 4+4 laminated glass weigh per square metre?
With a 0.76 mm PVB interlayer (8.76 mm in all), 20.8 kg/m²: 20.0 kg of glass and the rest is the interlayer.
Does the PVB interlayer add much weight?
Little: its density is 1070 kg/m³, so 0.76 mm of PVB adds less than 1 kg per square metre.
